Paphiopedilum Bidborough 'Celle'

A vintage plant that has been used in a few hybrids until now. To our mind it could rival with Hellas 'Westonbirt' as a parent, for very different reasons. First it is a diploid, that can be crossed with species, and a very vigorous, clumping plant. More important, it is the parent of Hans Strahl, and we saw several other hybrids with it as a parent. Basically it does nothing to the shape or color of the flower, or nearly so. On the other side, it doubles the size of the other parent and make it very vigorous.
